Mapping the ground, plot by plot

Climate Cost Case Pakistan

Research-Creation | Forensic Mapping | Climate Justice

39 farmers from Sindh have sued two of Germany’s largest carbon emitters in a German court. Their claim: that the 2022 floods, which destroyed two harvest seasons, were made worse by emissions originating thousands of kilometres away.

Red House was brought in to handle the ground-research work.

In Dadu, Jacobabad, and Larkana, we built Felt maps of plaintiffs lands. Each map was cross-referenced with the official Sindh land record.

The maps were later used as the spatial reference for satellite-based analysis of flood inundation and vegetation loss across the same plots.

The case was filed at a German regional court in December 2025.
